Forbidden City in Beijing

The Forbidden City in Beijing China was home to China's emperors for some 500 years.  The massive walled fortress surrounding the imperial city was completed in the 15th century.

The Forbidden City can be accessed from Tiananmen Square by passing through the Gate of Heavenly Peace.
